The Pocatello Rotary Club, Idaho, USA, was organized on February 11, 1918 - Charter No. 381 in the world of Rotary. The club was first part of District 14, then District 20, 4, 110, 165, 542, and finally District 540 on July 1, 1980, which is now District 5400.

The Pocatello Rotary Club has provided seven (7) District Governors - J.T. Young 1921-22, Walter Cleare 1928-29, Richard H. Wells 1934-35, R.P. Stratford 1951-52, M. T. Deaton 1967-68, Bryce V. Roper 1981-82   and John Evans 1990-91.  The 1934-35 District Governor, Richard H. Wells, went onto become Rotary International President in 1944-45.

The Pocatello Rotary Club, through the process of club extension chain, has been responsible for chartering sixteen of District 5400s 41 clubs.

The club has had many major community Service projects through the years.  The Rotary Rose Garden, now at the confluence of South 4th and 5th Avenues, has approximately 2500 rose bushes.  Further, the club continues to be involved in community service projects.  The main current project (started in 1984) is the sponsorship of the Annual "Nutcracker Ballet" with net proceeds going into many community cultural arts projects and events.   The club is also involved in a Greenway Project along the Portneuf River that runs through the city of Pocatello.  It has been a major benefactor and contributor the Idaho State University Scholarship Program, RYLA, Boy Scouts, American Legion Auxiliary Girls" State, Idaho Youth Ranch, Bannock Boys Baseball, assistance to the elderly and handicapped, and is considered the city 's leading service club.
