Present and active in the Quebec community since 1919, the Rotary Club of Quebec brings together dynamic business people and representatives of the professions with the same pleasure to meet weekly to exchange ideas, socialize and put forward their vision of serve.

Since its founding, the club has played a pioneering role in District 7790 which covers Quebec, Maine and Nunavut.

Instead of sharing and fellowship, the Rotary Club of Quebec is associated with multiple causes that assist people with disabilities, youth and the poor.

Rotary Meets Tuesdays
Every Tuesday morning, members of the Rotary Club of Quebec will meet for breakfast at the Chateau Frontenac from 7.30am.
On the menu: conferences, monitoring of ongoing projects, information, professional exchanges and especially fun and camaraderie.

All club meetings take place in Quebec Chateau Frontenac since 1919.
Prestigious hotel, renowned worldwide, Chateau Frontenac saw visitors from all over the world including Rotarians it is always a pleasure to host.

Some memorable moments
1919
Foundation of the Rotary Club of Quebec who chose the Chateau Frontenac for its weekly meetings, a loyalty that has lasted over 80 years.

1950
Appointment of Mr. Arthur Lagueux, club member, as president of Rotary International, a huge honor for the club and pride that has never flagged since.

1965
Grand Opening of the Rotary Village in Saint-Nicolas, outdoor center for disabled non-autonomous; over the years, more than 10 000 beneficiaries have shared small and big joys.

1993
Rotary bingo takes root under the inspiration of our fellow Rotarian Daniel Thibault; amount paid so far: nearly $2 million awarded by the Rotary clubs of the Quebec region to nonprofit organizations.

2000
Official twinning with the clubs of Nanterre (France) and West of Bologna (Italy), a humanitarian project of an international character unites us: the reconstruction of a school Acharnon Greece.

Some flowers on the stem of time ...

•  Weekly talks from our club were broadcast live for over 10 years on the air of CHRC;
  

•  Christmas is lived intensely with young disabled who Rotarians carried in their arms to climb the famous steps leading to the ballroom of the Castle;
  

•  Pierre Boutet and Richard Verreault, renowned tenors, were the winners of the "In search of fresh talent" initiated in 1947 by our club: a platform for our artists, which was repeated for 10 consecutive years at the Palais Montcalm;
  

•  for over 50 years, our club has supported for five years, the development and maintenance of a public skating rink on the corner of Rue Cartier and Blvd. René Lévesque in Quebec City;
  

•  our club holds a record of fidelity to Rotary: some members were active Rotarian for over 50 years - Bill MacMillan, Emile Robitaille, Henri Toussaint, Phil Poiré, Maurice Tessier, Stan Brock and Jacques DeSerres ...
  

•  some dedicated club members would visit homes of disabled children who they brought to the restaurant and then took them home;
  

•  the club is true to its "evenings by the fire" to integrate and inform new members about Rotary and responsibilities inherent in Rotary;
  

•  more than fifty members of our club have been received since 1919, as Paul Harris Fellow in recognition of their outstanding contribution to Rotary and the community in general;
  

•  the traditional oyster supper reigns supreme for-profit business for over 50 years;
  

•  the club has already consolidated in a single year in excess of 120 members;
  

•  over the years, our club was involved in many humanitarian causes: Stamp Easter Baskets, Christmas Service, soup kitchen, Christmas Hi Army, etc..;
  

•  five clubs in the district including that of Quebec have put forward in 1973-1974, a campaign to build a pavilion for the prevention of heart disease at Hospital Laval - goal achieved: $1 500 000; surplus : $115 000;
  

•  our club has helped more than 10 000 people to "Clear View" in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and India among others, thanks to the dedication of Rotarian Jacques DeSerres, today an honorary member of our club: deliveries optical, thousands of pairs of eyeglasses and lenses new and used, training of technicians in Haitian and Dominican clinic;
  

•  MM. Richard Evans and James Bomar, president of Rotary International visited our club respectively in 1967 during Expo 67 and in 1979 to celebrate our 60th anniversary;
  

•  women were admitted to the Club of Quebec, in 1989;
  

•  in 1999, the PolioPlus Pioneer prize was given to our fellow Rotarian Gérard Vallée, 1996-1997 Governor, for his full commitment in the cause of an international character;
  

•  Jacques Châteauvert of our Rotary club and governor 1992-1993, participated in the founding of 16 Rotary clubs in Quebec.
