THE DISTRICT 3132 HISTORY

Our District lies in the heart of Indian subcontinent and has myriad of interesting geographic, historical and contemporary attractions being one of the finest Rotary District in India. With an estimated population of 25 million, the District has 2400 Rotarians spread over 67 clubs in 10 Revenue Districts of the state of Maharashatra.

         The District extends 400 kms. East to West and 450km. North to South. It has Western areas with heavy rainfall and picturesque towns in the West and Sahyadri mountain range to the North and the Deccan Plateau in the center and the fertile agricultural hinterland and drought prone area of Marathwada in the East.

        Our District is a congruence of various creeds and culture, combination of traditional and enthusiastic events and educational landmarks, exotic natural beauty and architectural monuments, various cities bearing their own specialty, open minded people and their overwhelming hospitality.

        Our District is having ideal Indian culture with traditional family systems. We have diversity with different cultures in our District. Our District has excellent Educational centers with three Universities. Our District is paradise for any student or professional to learn about Indian culture as well as various vocations.

         We have very reputed and famous Industries of Vehicles, Computers, Textiles Industry, Sugar Factories, Cloths Mills, two Military schools, Wine Industry, Natural Hill stations, Dams. We have rare Grate Indian Bustard Bird Sanctuary as well as two more Bird Sanctuary. In our District main crops are Wheat, Jawari, Rice, Cereals and in fruits famous seedless Grapes, Mango,

         We celebrate many Indian festivals the famous one are Dewali festival, Ganesh festival and Durga festival.

         We have very good tourist spots in our District. World famous Ajanta and Elora caves, hill stations Mahabaleshwar. We can say our District represents our India in real sense and we are proud of that.
