As part of the Rotary's centennial celebration, RI encouraged clubs to participate twin club program. In the program, two clubs from different countries established strong ties and agreed to team up to carry out a centennial-year effort, be it an international service project, Rotary Youth Exchange, or Friendship Exchange. The program proved to be quite popular. More than 1,000 clubs formalized twin club partnerships.

Twin clubs were invited to share the stories with RI  for possible use as news items; however, no official forms or formal reporting procedures were created for this.

I found 21 references to the centennial twin club project in past issues of The Rotarian.  You can see the results list and click through to individual articles at http://www.google.com/search?tbo=p&tbm=bks&q=%22twin+club%22+centennial&tbs=,bkt:m,bkms:1168684103302644226.  Some articles may prove more useful than others.

The July 2003 issue of The Rotarian says that twin clubs were to register with RI.  I do not see any record of this in the current database nor did I find any additional information about the program.

Sincerely,
