ROTARY PEACE COMMUNITIES - NEW ZEALAND

#1 Waitakere City, North Island was the first Peace City in New Zealand being officially endorsed on 11 August 1999 under the sponsorshop of the RC Waitakere City and RC Henderson, D9910 and initiated by Bob Benzie.
A note from RGHF Honorary Secretary, Norm Winterbottom advises that Waitakere City no longer exists.
On 1 November, 2010, the independent cities of Auckland, North Shore, Manukau and Waitakere together with Rodney and Franklin District Councils and Great Barrier Island were amalgamated into Auckland Super City under an act of Parliament.
