History Sri Lanka was one of the very early countries to initiate Rotaract clubs with the RAC Colombo being the first in the country. Formed only a year after the first Rotaract club in America, the RAC Colombo was the first sponsored by the Rotary Club of Colombo.
District |
Sri Lanka was allocated its own District 3220 to cater for all clubs in the country, which presently number close to 40 clubs, although that number is increasing every year. Of those 40 clubs, 13 are institution based (universities and colleges) while the remaining 28 (as at 2011) are area/region based ranging from Galle in the south to Jaffna in the north.

The Rotaract Club of Colombo consists of a group of young professionals committed to personal, professional and community development. Founded on 9th September 1969, the Rotaract Club of Colombo is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Colombo, and was the first to be chartered in Sri Lanka and among the earliest of Rotaract clubs in the region. There are 11 clubs in Colombo itself.
