This cartoon is an enlarged version of one that was published in the
Minneapolis Tribune in 1912 at the time of the 3rd Rotary Convention in
Duluth. The original newspaper cartoon, by C.W. Rawson, shows 9 Rotarians
-
Will Stephens of Los Angeles, the Rev. J.W. Kramer of Spokane,
W.J. Wallace and W.A. McGonagle both of Duluth, President Glenn C. Mead
of
Philadelphia, Paul Harris of Chicago, W.R.Murray of Minneapolis.
Silvester
Schiele of Chicago and Ches Perry of Chicago. These appear on the upper
section of the cartoon.
The lower section of the cartoon has been added, and shows a further 7
Rotarians. These are - Allen D. Albert, a Minneapolis member and IARC
President 1915/6, W.M.R. Callaway, Mac Martin, B.W. Smith, George M Space,
Frank Thresher, a Minneapolis member and NARC Director in 1910/1, and
Frank
'Grandad' Collins, President of the Minneapolis Club.
The description of the cartoon has been transferred so that it now
appears
at the bottom of the page rather than below the upper section: "'Rapid
Fire sketches of Rotarians at the Duluth Convention by C.W. Rawson of the
Minneapolis Tribune."
