in 1952, Dr. Albert Schweitzer was made an honorary member of the RC Colmar. Since he was born on January 14 1875 near Colmar, which belonged to the German Empire (Deutsches Kaiserreich), calling him a "French clergyman" is debatable, though he got the French nationality after WWI, when the Elsass became French again.
