Why I Am A Rotarian

July 8, 2007

In 1988, when I was still a student at Engineering College, that I had my first association with Rotary. Back then I became a Rotaractor, and it was then I learned about Rotary and Rotaract. My association with Rotary and Rotaract gave me a forum for individual development and an opportunity to interact with many successful individuals.

I continued to be with Rotaract for as long as I could. But then in 1995, when I was Miami (Florida), and there was no Rotaract club I could join, a Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Miami motivated me to join Rotary. Since then I have stayed at lot of places.

I was in the Chicago area, in Michigan, Dallas, Minneapolis, and now back in Nasik (India). All along, being a Rotarian made it easy for me to make friends at new places. Most importantly, it helps me meet people from diverse cultural background. I have always been fascinated by the diversity of cultures. With the presence of Rotary Clubs across so many countries, I am sure that in time I will meet many Rotarians from different cultural backgrounds.

Lastly, I would like to mention that in Rotary, I got many opportunities to make a difference in lives of others. I am not an extremely wealthy person. But even with the limited resources I have, it was along with Rotary, that I could make a bigger contribution to the community than I could have done on my own.

Yours in Rotary,

 Anil Kale,

Secretary, Rotary Club of Nasik Road

Dist 3030 Zone 1
