History - Note - contradictions are presently being confirmed with Nigeria (webmaster)
"Rotary came to Nigeria in 1961 with the formation of a Club in Kano in April, and another in Lagos in May.
In 1966, the first Inner Wheel Club in Nigeria was formed in Lagos with Mrs. Deji Alakija as its Charter President in 1969.
The second Club was Inner Wheel Club of Ikeja, its Charter Certificate was presented by the International Inner Wheel President Mrs. Marjorie Foster.
The third Club was formed in 1980 in Kano.
From 1982, many Clubs were formed in rapid succession and presently, there are about 50 active Clubs in Nigeria with about 500 members nationwide."

 Districts
The growth of Rotary extended to Inner Wheel in the formation of Districts specifically catering for Nigeria.
District 911 emerged in 1985/86 with Mrs. Bisi Solaru as its first District Chairman whilst District 912 had Mrs. Beatrice Agama as its District Chairman.
District 912 was later disbanded which leaves Nigeria with 3 Districts at that date.
District 913 was carved out of the old District 911.
By then, late Mrs. Fola Onalaja from the Inner Wheel Club of Ibadan had served as Board Member in 1989/90 for Nigeria.
At the AGM held in Markurdi in 1987 under Mrs Joan Ogbuehi, memberss agreed to divide District 912 into two Districts along Rotary lines and as a result, District 914 came into being.
