 History
The first Inner Wheel club was formed in Manchester, England on 10 January 1924 by women married to Rotarians.
The aim was to develop friendship and to provide humanitarian assistance.

In Denmark, the first club was formed in Haderslev on 23 September 1948.
 Districts
Denmark has one of the most clubs and members per total population, of all countries within the Inner Wheel world.
There are 5 official Districts in Denmark -
District 44 comprising 31 clubs and includes 2 clubs in the Faeroe Islands.
The district is situated in Jutland, stretching geographically from Ebeltoft in the south to the Faroe Islands in the north and from Grenaa in the east to west in Thisted.
A diversity of landscape character, ranging from the mild east coast to the somewhat harsh North Sea atmosphere with its white beaches and lyme grass-covered dunes. In the midst of the country, forests of Gudenåen and Limfjord and large urban areas.
The Atlantic Ocean is in contrast to the grassy hills of the Faeroe Islands.
All in all a very varied and exciting area.

Inner Wheel's District 45 covers Gauteng from Lemvig to Aarhus and Samsoe, and from Horsens and Juelsminde to Esbjerg. The district has nearly 600 members in 23 clubs.
