 PDG Jo Conibear, the
first woman to become a member of Rotary in Lakeland, passed
away on December 22, 2000. Jo was a member of the Lakeland
Christina Rotary Club since 1987, and dedicated herself to the
Polio Plus program to fight the disease which claimed the life
of her husband. Jo served the Club in numerous capacities and
became District Governor of 6890 in 1996. She had been suffering
from cancer for several years. Memorial donations may be made to
