History of Rotary in the Kingdom of Bahrain

this is not a history and we are hoping to have more historical records from our members

The Kingdom of Bahrain is a small island nation of 620 sq km with a population of 645,361 as at 1 July 2001. The official languages are Arabic, English, Farsi and Urdu. The capital city is Manama which is also the home of the nation's first Rotary Club. There are two other clubs in Bahrain.

The Rotary Club of Manama was chartered on 13 September 1965 with club number 13366. The club presently has 78 regular members and meetings are held in English.

The second Rotary club was that of Sulmaniya which was chartered on 9 June 1971 with club number 13367. This club presently has 55 regular members and meetings are held in the Ebglish language.

The third club to be formed was the Rotary Club of Adlyia which was chartered on 4 August 1994, club number 30341. The club has 27 regular members and meetings are held in English.
