The capital city of Armenia, Yerevan, is the home of the first club in the country. At the time of this report there are only two (2) clubs in the country. Armenia is a small country with a total area of 29,800 sq km and a total population of 2,407,460. Russian and Armenian are the official languages.

The first club to be formed was the Rotary Club of Yerevan which was chartered on 13 November 1996.
It meets every Wednesday at 19.00 hrs at Hotel Armenia. Meeting language - English. The Club presently has 26 members.

The second, the  Rotary Club of Giumri was chartered in 29 December 1998, and meets on Tuesdays at 19.00hrs at the Hotel Guesthouse Berin. Meeting language - English. The Club has 23 members.

In 1999, the President of the Yerevan Club was Serop Der-Boghossian; its secretary was Ardavazt Yarhshibekyan.
In 1999, the club was under the control of Edouard Calefas of France.

"It was a great joy for both President Serop and Henk, editor of this website when they met first time at the 1999 Singapore Rotary Convention. Henk was pleased to meet the man provided much information about Rotary in Armenia.
Serop was overjoyed that the rest of the world and his Armenian Rotarians would have access to the story of Rotary."

At this time, we have no other information on Armenia but continue to search and communicate (webmaster)
