History of Rotary in San Marino

And the First Club in San Marino

A Part of Rotary District 2070, Italy

And a Part of Our History of Rotary in Europe

"The Most Serene Republic of San Marino" is a country in the Apennine Mountains.
It is a landlocked enclave completely surrounded by Italy and with a total land area of 61 sq. km. Italian is the official language.
One of the European microstates, San Marino has the smallest population (31,000 in 2008) of all the members of the Council of Europe and one of the highest GDP per capita in the world.
San Marino is the oldest constitutional republic in the world, having been founded on 3 September 301 by Marinus of Rab, a Christian stonemason fleeing the religious persecution of Roman Emperor Diocletian.
San Marino's constitution, dating back to 1600, is the world's oldest written constitution still in effect.
