VOICES OF RGHF MEMBERS

membersIt is important to know our past because "Our History is our Future" and if we don't preserve it now it will vanish with those that lived it and took it with them to grave. Women today are advancing to the highest offices, standing on the shoulders of those that went before. Who were they, why did they advocate being included in an organization that had shut the door to them? What value are their stories to our Fifth Avenue of New Generations. What value are their stories to you today as you receive your Past District Governor or Past Club President's pin. Don't you want to share your story with the 187,987 female Rotarians worldwide?  What about sharing your story with your own children and grandchildren? Who will write your story?

We often say “the history of Women and Rotary is still being written” and we hope that you will use this venue to

1) -enhance your knowledge of Women and Rotary and

2) -to write your own story of Rotary.

This not a monument to Jean Harris or to any single person or persons.  Here we only seek to elevate great ideas that have relevance today.

From this page, you can explore other work by Paul Harris, other Rotarians and many great minds of the ages. In Myersdoing so we will together preserve the history of Rotary International and your story forever.

If you have an RGHF or Rotary Global History question, the place to ask it is www.historycomment.org,  where you will get a timely answer and the help of Rotarians from all around the world.

Here, members* of RGHF can tell us about their experience in Rotary. Why/How, did you join what are your goals for the future? And don't forget, you can connect with us on Facebook.  There are thousands of stories, and here we'll share those from our RGHF members, both men and women.

Yours for Rotary's Global History, Sandra Myers, USA 29 June 2011.
