CHINESE TRANSLATION CHAIR: PDG Dens W. L. Shao was born in Chingshui town, Taichung Hsien and raised in Chiayi, South Taiwan. He graduated in medicine from Chungshan Medical College in 1975 with distinction in dentistry. His internship and three years mandatory military service were followed by two years of general practice in Taipei Air Force General Hospital. After that in 1979 he went to Radcliff infirmary in Oxford, England to accept dental oral surgery training and then he came back Taipei to be a director of William Dental Clinic and President of Lon An Dental Laboratory until now.

Dens graduated in medicine from Chungshan Medical College in 1975 with a degree in dentistry. His internship and three years mandatory military service were followed by two years of general practice in Taipei Air Force General Hospital. In 1979, he trained in oral surgery at Radcliff Infirmary in Oxford, England, and afterwards became director of William Dental Clinic in Taipei. Currently, Dens is President of Lon An Dental Laboratory.

            A Rotarian since 1984, Dens is a member of the Rotary Club of Taipei Swanshie, where he served as charter club president in 1991-92. He has served as district trainer in since 2002 and as moderator or facilitator at multiple PETS and Foundation seminars. Dens was Taiwan promoter of the 2003 Singapore Institute.

In an effort to raise the quality and quantity of club members, Dens has been very active in education and training for the clubs and districts in his area, compiling numerous Chinese-language publications for district leadership training, which he sends free to every Rotary club in Taiwan.

            Dens is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Foundation Benefactor, and Major Donor. He has maintained perfect attendance since 1984.
